This video is about the Sacred Craft Consumer Expo of 2008. It was photographed at the Del Mar Fairgrounds in October of 2008.

The video opens with a wide shot of the exposition hall. It's a bright sunny day with clear blue skies. The building's exterior is decorated with a beautiful mural that shows gray whales breaching above the water at sunset. The mural simulates both above-water and underwater views simultaneously. The underwater view has various aquatic plants and fish swimming about. The mural — called Ride the Tide — was created by artist Wyland who has several of these 'Whaling Wall' murals around the world. Meanwhile, people are walking in and out of the hall to see the surfboard show.

Inside the exhibit hall, there are some surfboards displayed vertically. They are glossy and polished boards. The artwork on the deck of each surfboard is airbrushed underneath the fiberglass outercoat, and features various themes such as a whale's tail above water, or a mermaid caressing a sea turtle's back with her hand while both are swimming underwater. The artist, again, is Wyland (the same artist who painted the outdoor mural described earlier).

In the next shot ther are some standard surf boards meant for surfing. One of them has 5-fins, and uses fins from a company called True Ames.

Next, We see a man shaping a surfboard with a tool that's connected to a vacuum line to collect any dust. The man's wearing a dust mask and ear plugs. He's inside a shaping booth, and many people are looking on.

Then, we see some decorative shortboards that are covered with tiny mosaic tiles. One board has a mosaic mermaid, another has a mosaic reggae theme, while yet another has a mosaic Virgin Mary. There are vibrant blue, yellow, and green mosaic tiles. Perhaps the most interesting display is a yellow-tiled surfboard mosaic that has a tiny water fountain built-in to the deck. The water fountain is working, and it gently streams some water that gracefully overflows a mosaic-tiled vessel and drips down into a collecting vessel on the floor. Designed by a female artist, the decorative surfboards are part of the "Artistic Board Design Series" from Uhuru Surfcraft.

Elsewhere, there is a wooden surfboard 'blank' that incorporates a corrugated 'honeycomb' style of core. The concept design is meant to be lightweight, and likely more environmentally-friendly (sustainable) than typical polyurethane or polystyrene foam blanks used in surfboard construction. The blank is in the early stages of the shaping process and has not yet been covered with fiberglass.

Later, we see craftsman Mark Saracusa seated. He uses a chisel to shape a piece of wood into the shape of a breaking wave that has a 'tube'. This particular piece of wood is jelutong, a kind of tree that grows in Malaysia. Saracusa's sculptures are available at his website mysurfart.com and select retail stores. About his unique wave-shaped wood sculptures, Saracusa says, "every ones's a little different, you know?"

The video ends by showing a different man shaping a surfboard foam blank. He has long hair and a beard. Using a pencil and template, he draws an outline on the foam to guide his shaping later on.

The video fades out.
