This video was taken in April of 2009 at a pleasant harbor in California. Around eighteen sailboats of different shapes and sizes drift about on the water's surface, accompanied by a few motor boats. On the stern of one motorboat, there's a dinghy suspended by two hooks. Occasionally, a boat owner is visible above deck. The sailboats and their masts are reflected in the peaceful water. In the foreground are a dozen seagulls along the shoreline. They flit to and fro, and some of them mimic each other as they rapidly dip their heads above and below the water. The setting sun causes a purple color across the water. A weather-beaten buoy bobs up and down lazily. The video dissolves to another location at the same harbor. The sky has a more blue hue to it, but is still purple. In the background are dozens and dozens of homes on the hills. One home has big windows that reflect a contrasting orange light instead of purple. Rows of palm trees line the hilltop. A Mexican family with young children is heard behind the camera. The edges of the harbor are lined with sturdy rocks. Six sailboats and one motor boat are seen, all moored to the harbor bottom. Again, their sail-less masts are reflected in the relatively still water. One of the sailboats has a drooping American flag that calmly rustles in the gentle wind. A few seagulls fly by in opposite directions. The video fades out with the sound of crying seagull.
